The world of Grands Prix is a universe where passion is in every corner of the paddock. But if it can be a driving force, it can also prove destructive by disturbing discernment. On the airwaves of speedweek, Fred Corminboeuf team manager of the CGBM team insists on this little-known aspect of our favorite competition, affirming that he has learned all the lessons from it.

The Grands Prix is a sport, a business, but it is also a human story. That you have to know how to manage. On Speedweek, the Swiss Fred Corminboeuf says that he discovered this aspect of the paddock the hard way, when his journey combined with that of his compatriot Dominique Aegerter : " Dominique was then like my son. We grew up together in the industry. For years I did his bidding and it was a mistake. The 2016 season did not bring the expected results and I told him “no” for the first time when he wanted to have a Suter rather than a Kalex ».

And we know the consequence of this refusal: agitated went to Kiefer's house. “ For years I fought for him” remembers the one who now has Sam Lowes and Iker Lecuona in his box with KTMs. “I did everything to obtain the best possible results with him. Of course, not all my decisions were right, I made too many concessions, I should have said no more often. I take responsibility for it, there is no problem with that ».

He finishes : " I know now that I can no longer have such a close relationship with a pilot. I now know that, above all, we are in business. But that's how I am, I also walk by feelings ».
