During the last race of the FIM CEV Repsol Moto2 European Championship held last weekend at the Ricardo Tormo circuit, the young Italian Tommaso Marcon crossed the finish line in third position, then was demoted to fourth place for having obstructed his teammate Yari Montella of Team Ciatti–Speed Up.

The embarrassment was really not obvious and the penalty surprised everyone, but that is not the point. Marcon was born on December 26, 1999 in Cittadella and he has just finished fourth in the CEV Moto2 Championship behind Edgar Pons, Héctor Garzó and Alessandro Zaccone. His best places are third in Valencia (at the start of the season) and Barcelona.

Tommaso Marcon therefore knows the Ricardo Tormo circuit perfectly, and this will be very useful to him for the Grand Prix which will take place there next weekend and in which he will exceptionally participate in replacement of Jesko Raffin, engaged in MotoE.

The 19-year-old Italian will ride an NTS Moto2 for the NTS RW Racing GP team. “We are happy to give a chance to a young rider and for us it is important to receive different comments on our bike, explained team manager Jarno Janssen. »

“This year, several drivers took turns on the NTS and we are curious to know what a young driver can tell us. Next week, after the GP, Will Bendsneyder and Jesko Raffin will test the new 2020 prototype for the first time, Wednesday and Thursday in Jerez. »
