Sam Lowes was the fastest during the first free practice session of the Moto2 category of the Indonesian Grand Prix, second round of the 2022 World Championship. As with Moto3, the intermediate class had to deal with a circuit that was not at best, still damp from the rain falling in some areas, and very dirty.
The Team Marc VDS driver achieved the best performance with a time of 1:44.439, obtained on the 17th of 17 laps. Behind him, at 1.043s we found Joe Roberts, riding the Kalex of the ItalTrans team and Tony Arbolino, third with the Kalex of the Marc VDS team. Celestine Vietti (Mooney VR46 Racing Team), winner in Qatar, finished fourth ahead Jake Dixon (GASGAS) and Fermin Aldeguer (Speedup).
Excellent seventh time for Alessandro Zaccone (Gresini) who is ahead Aron canet (FlexBox HP40) and Sean Dylan Kelly (American Racing). Roman Fenati (SpeedUp) completes this morning top 10 in Mandalika.
