Moto2 Italy Mugello Qualifying: Arón Canet takes a new position ahead of Pedro Acosta

Aron Canet set the best time during the third and final free practice session of the Italian Grand Prix in the Moto2 category at Mugello, eighth stage of the 2022 World Championship. The Pons Team rider set the fastest lap in 1'51.761, a time established on the 12th of his 14 laps. Behind Canet we find the rookie and 2021 champion of the Moto3 category Pedro Acosta (Red Bull Ajo), his teammate Augusto Fernandez and Sam Lowes (Marc VDS).

Lorenzo Dalla Porta (Italtrans) is fifth, ahead Barry Baltus (RW Racing GP), the leader of the world ranking Celestine Vietti (Mooney VR46 Racing Team), Will Bendsneyder (SAG) and the two drivers of Team Aspar, Jake dixon et Albert Arenas.

Ai Ogura, Cameron Beaubier, Jorge Navarro and Joe Roberts also qualified directly for Q2. They will have to move on from Q1 among others: Tony Arbolino, Marcel Schrotter, Mattia Pasini, Somkiat Chantra, Alonso Lopez, Fermin Aldeguer, Niccolò Antonelli, Alessandro Zaccone and Simone Corsi.
