Some private testing in Aragon today and tomorrow: Triumph is back on track with test rider Julián Simón, while some Moto2 and Moto3 riders are working for the next races.
Lots of work these days at MotorLand Aragón in Spain, which will host the 14th round of the MotoGP World Championship, and yesterday and today private tests. Triumph is also back on track for testing ahead of 2019, when the British manufacturer will become the sole engine supplier in Moto2.
For next season, a big revolution awaits the intermediate category in the World Championship: the teams will no longer use the Honda 600cc engine, replaced by a Triumph 765cc engine. Another stage of the testing program began yesterday in Aragón, with the first test by former Moto2 rider Julián Simó of the 765cc engine and the first complete ECU on track. Further testing will take place in June.
Not only did Triumph take to the track, but some Moto2 and Moto3 riders were also present for these two days of private testing. Among them, the Sky Racing VR46 riders from both categories and the Moto2 rookie Romano Fenati (Marinelli Snipers), while the Spanish Moto3 rider Jorge Martin prefers to rest after a fall in Jerez.
