At the same time publishing its press release concerning the future MV Agusta Moto2 with Triumph engine, the Forward Racing team made a video available to the media illustrating the construction of the machine.

In this one, we can clearly see that the motorcycle is original, in the sense that its chassis is based on a steel frame bolted to aluminum rear plates.

Among the multiple Moto2 prototypes observed since 2010, we do not remember such a solution, the manufacturers having until now opted for a steel frame have used the latter from the steering column to the axle. swinging arm.

MV Agusta can rely on indisputable know-how in terms of 3-cylinder motorcycles, if only by its presence at the highest level of Supersport with such a propeller, but is innovating there in terms of Grand Prix chassis ( with the exception of the exotic AJR 2010 and Bimota 2012), with a solution however already seen many times on road motorcycles and, of course, on the Varèse productions in WSBK.

The motorcycle is developed under the authority of the engineer Brian Gillen, who has been working at MV Agusta for many years: “We have been evaluating a return to the world championship for several years, and with the change in the Moto2 category regulations for 2019, we have the opportunity after 42 years to fully express our technical know-how, developed over the last 6 years races in the Superbike and Supersport championships. The Moto2 project is very ambitious and we are committing all our R&D resources and racing experience to build a completely new motorcycle, different from all others, and the height of the MV Agusta brand.”

Our mouths are already watering...
