Despite negative temperatures in the Bavarian region of Memmingen, more than 500 guests were present at the presentation of the Dynavolt Intact GP team which, for the sixth year in a row, took place in the Keckeisen Akkumulatoren warehouses.

Headliners of the evening, Marcel Schrötter et Xavi Verge have revealed the anything but surprising 2018 colors of the Kalex that they will use in the Moto2 World Championship.

The youngsters from the Dynavolt Intact GP Junior Team also took the opportunity to step into the spotlight, with the German team effectively fielding Matthias Meggle et Marc Alcoba in the FIM CEV Repsol Moto2 European Championship, in cooperation with the Spanish team PromoRacing, as well as Joshua Bauer in the European Talent Cup (ETC).

The team still benefits mainly from the sponsorship of the battery manufacturer Intact Dynavolt and will use Kalex this year, replacing the Suter used last year by Sandra Cortese et Marcel Schrotter (then Jake dixon et Alex de Angelis).

Jürgen Lingg, Team Manager: “The first tests in Spain were very promising. But the weather conditions were not optimal. We definitely need the three days of testing we will have in Jerez next week. There are still things to sort out and a lot of work to do. I hope the weather will play a role. Despite everything, I am convinced that we will be ready for the first race. »

Marcel Schrötter : “Being part of a team presentation like this is no brainer. I was already overwhelmed last year and I am even more happy that I can experience this great event as a rider of the Intact GP team for the second time now. It's amazing how much effort my team puts into this presentation. This is not only an unforgettable event for me, but also for all the sponsors and fans. Dynavolt Intact GP is the best team in the paddock for me. The atmosphere is very familiar and, really, always great. After a year of working with my team, we know exactly where we want to go. The first tests with the new hardware were already very promising. Not only does it make me happy, but the mechanics are even more delighted. My goal for the 2018 season is to finally reach the goal. Over the past few years, I have had good results time and time again. Sometimes I had a good qualifying session and other times a good race. That means I can do it. But I must be able to constantly maintain this performance. For this season, I have all the conditions. I have the team around me and I have the bike for it. Now the whole thing should work. »

Xavi Verge : "It's like a dream ! When I arrived in this championship, the Dynavolt Intact GP team impressed me from the start. With the equipment and the way of working, it seemed like a MotoGP team to me. Now to be a member of this team two years later is crazy. The first tests were very positive and we want to continue on this path. For the next test I will try some new parts, but the pace of the bike is already very good. Everyone is focused on one goal and we will work hard, including with Marcel and the whole team, to do a good job and be ready for the first race. I am fully motivated to have a good season. Now I have the same equipment as the world champion, and I have to do everything possible to achieve very good results. »
