Mandalika Racing Team and SAG Team join forces with official sponsor Pertamina (Indonesian national oil company) to participate in the Moto2 World Championship.

The union with ONEXOX TKKR has come to an end for the Stop and Go Racing Team ofEduardo Perales, after two seasons of fruitful collaboration which made it possible to achieve important objectives such as 5 podiums, 4 pole positions, and above all a victory with Remy gardner during the last race of the Moto2 World Championship.

The Spanish team closed the 2020 season last November by finishing in sixth place in the Moto2 World Championship standings (160 points) with riders Remy Gardner et Kashma Daniel, after having signed in September with Tom Luthi for 2021.

The two-year partnership with the Malaysian structures ONEXOX (mobile operator) and TKKR (racing team) is therefore over and it is towards Indonesia that Eduardo Perales turned for his SAG team to continue its adventure in the World Cup. This new alliance between the Indonesian Mandalika Racing Team and the SAG team leads to a new identity, Pertamina Mandalika SAG Team.

The new structure will soon confirm the name of the second rider for the 2021 season. Currently, the Malaysian Kashma Daniel has an existing contract with the SAG team, but given the interests of the Indonesian main sponsor, his situation appears to be in danger, especially since the Indonesian Dimas Ekky Pratama is currently without handlebars…

Rapel Ali, President of Mandalika: “ I am very happy because today is the day Indonesia makes history: Mandalika Racing Team becomes the first Indonesian team in the Moto2 world championship. I have every confidence in the SAG team to realize our dream of becoming Moto2 world champions. »

Edu Perales, Director of the SAG team: “ We are very happy with this new collaboration project with Pertamina and Mandalika Racing Team for next season. This is a very ambitious sporting project that we have embarked on and we hope to continue to move forward and fight for the Moto2 world championship. I would like to take this opportunity to thank ONEXOX, TKKR and especially Bobie for the support they have given us over the last two seasons. We wish them many years of great success. »
