Confined at home, the Sky Racing Team VR46 pilot divides his time between cooking, training, video games and Polish lessons.
While waiting for a return to “normal”, Luca marini keeps himself busy by doing various activities at home. He also did not fail to appeal for compliance with the confinement rules so that everything can end as quickly as possible: “Currently we all have to stay at home. I hope that as many people as possible do it in Italy and around the world. » Far from being bored in the house he shares with his girlfriend Marta, he told motogp.com about his daily life.
“I clean, I tidy up, I cook with my girlfriend, but I also play a few video games in addition to working out a little every day to keep myself in shape. » His best recipe, as a self-respecting Italian, is obviously pizza! “We are doing well”, he commented.
Number 10 doesn't leave racing aside either: “I know how to speak English and Spanish, but I'm also trying to learn a little Polish because my girlfriend was born in Poland. It's really difficult! But currently I have enough time to try. I had also studied French at school but I completely forgot it. »
Besides his daily life, he did not fail to talk about motorcycles, from the choice of his number to his favorite circuit and the motorcycle of his dreams: “I started racing with number 97, but when I arrived in the World Championship, it was already taken. So I changed it by choosing my day of birth [he was born on August 10, 1997, editor’s note]. I like it because it's also an important number in football, another sport that fascinates me. I tried several when I was little. But motorcycling is something else, it provides sensations that no other sport can provide. »
“Mugello [is my favorite circuit]”, he continued. “ For me it is the best in the world, not only for its layout but also for the unique atmosphere that reigns there. I also enjoy other circuits, obviously, some where I'm fast like Thailand and Malaysia. »
Would he have imagined a life far from racing motorcycles? " I don't know. I like sports in general, but I also like studying. Maybe I could have considered something different. » As for the motorcycle of his dreams, the answer is not long in coming: “A 500cc two-stroke. It is a historic motorcycle, powerful and difficult to ride, but really very beautiful. »
