Pedro Acosta is world champion after the Moto2 race in Sepang! After only two seasons in the intermediate category, the Spanish genius from the Red Bull KTM Ajo team wins the general classification! What a crazy season he gave us! Fermín Aldeguer takes a big victory in this penultimate round of the 2023 championship. It should be noted that Acostane was not the favorite when the lights went out. Qualified only sixth, the future GasGas Tech3 rider in MotoGP had to face great adversity. Already, the poleman and finally winner, Fermin Aldeguer (Speed Up Racing), on fire and on a series of three consecutive achievements. But also, Celestino Vietti (Fantic Racing), the surprise winner in Austria. If Tony Arbolino (Elf MarcVDS Racing Team) hasn't really been in the game for half a season, we had to be wary of Aron Canet (Pons WeGow Los40), but also of Manuel Gonzalez (Correos Prepago Yamaha VR46 Master Camp ).
So, even if you already know the winner, come relive this race with us! Before we begin, here is a table which summarizes the known facts:

Here we go, perhaps, for a round that we will remember in several years. The weather is still good near Sepang, even though the lights are going out. Jute, let us point out that Aron Canet will have to take a long lap for falling under yellow flags in qualifying.
What a start! Fermin Aldeguer makes the best start, but the latter brings down Manuel Gonzalez in the first turn! Miraculously, no rider touches the yellow and blue motorcycle on the ground! Amazing. Peter Acosta immediately goes to the most interesting positions. Aldeguer already has more than a second lead. Marcos Ramirez (American racing) is third. Note the beautiful rise ofAi Ogura (Honda Team Asia), he who lost the championship here last year.
LET’S GOOOOOOOOOO!! 🚥@18ManuGonzalez goes down at Turn 2 after a great start and thankfully everyone avoids him! 😱#MalaysianGP 🇲🇾 pic.twitter.com/sVp1AZRxQT

As if the situation wasn't difficult enough for him, Tony Arbolino almost falls and catches himself at the last moment after touching Canet and Ogura. Terrible. The way is clear for Pedro Acosta.
THIS COULD BE IT! 🫢@TonyArbolino makes contact with @AiOgura79 and Aron Canet and loses a lot of positions! 🤯#MalaysianGP 🇲🇾 pic.twitter.com/dEFD0oIwun

Indeed, Fermin Aldeguer is absolutely untouchable, but his incident with Gonzalez is under investigation. Perhaps a long time ahead for the Spaniard. At the same time, we note the fall in Celestino Vietti andIzan Guevara (GasGas Aspar Team). Two new falls in the false turn n°9, which traps the drivers one by one. Sergio Garcia (Pons WeGow Los40), on the one hand, and Kohta Nozane (Correos Prepago Yamaha VR46 Master Camp), the other. Just after, it's Aron Canet who falls for the 24th time this season.
Déjà vu at Turn 9 🤯@garciadols11 and Kohta Nozane go down too! 💥#MalaysianGP 🇲🇾 pic.twitter.com/SzS5ILFQYv

Aldeguer will not have a penalty, it was in reality a simple act of racing. With 10 laps to go, he has a lead of more than four seconds. It's over, and the championship, too, seems decided. This is unheard of, or almost; in the dry, Aldeguer gains half a second per lap on Peter Acosta !
Crazy pace by @Aldeguer54 who has a 6 second lead! 🤯
It's all going to plan though for @37_pedroacosta for his title hopes 😎#MalaysianGP 🇲🇾 pic.twitter.com/jsSY5lnXXl

The lead has now increased to six seconds. Ai Ogura et Alonso lopez (Speed Up Racing) give themselves, which causes a little interest in this rather boring Grand Prix, it must be admitted. In a few minutes, the first world champion of this season will be celebrated.
Ai Ogura comes dangerously close to Marcos Ramirez to gain third position, but there is little time left. Can he do it ?
???? @AiOgura79 alert!
4 laps to go, can he catch @24Marcosramirez for the final place on the podium? 👀#MalaysianGP 🇲🇾 pic.twitter.com/4A55qXQtfv

Ogura continues to get closer, tirelessly, but it's not enough, because it's It's over! Fermin Aldeguer wins this race by eight seconds, and Peter Acosta, second, becomes the youngest Moto2 world champion in history. Marcos Ramirez takes his first podium in the category, he managed to resist the return of the Japanese.
