A few days ago, Filip Salac bid his official farewell to Gresini Racing team at the end of the season. The news, already in the air, of his new destination has arrived: Marc VDS Racing Team has thus formalized its first step for Moto2 2024, namely the young Czech rider. After the recent announcement of the new Superbike structure, with Sam Lowes as a standard bearer and Ducati as a motorcycle, steps were also underway to set up the project for the intermediate class of the World Championship. Salac will be the first new face of the team, there are rumors about Ai Ogura but first we will see what will happen toArbolino, increasingly close to MotoGP.
The Czech driver made his farewell to his current team official with a dedicated social post. “I would like to thank Gresini Racing for all the results and experiences so far. But I will leave the team at the end of 2023” written Filip Salac. “My manager and I thought about it long and hard and decided it was time for a change. Last year I was a rookie, it was a season with ups and downs, but at the same time I got on the podium and got many good results. This year I took a big step forward: I got my first pole, another podium and I fought for the top 10 in every race. The goal for the season remains unchanged: until the end of the year, I will fight for the top 10 and get as many points as possible. » It had already been rumored for some time that the Marc VDS Racing Team had set its sights on Salac, all that was missing was the official status.

Here is the official announcement of the new collaboration. “With this team Tito Rabat, Franco Morbidelli and Alex Marquez won the title, Jack Miller won the MotoGP at Assen” commented Filip Salac. “That was my goal, so we have big ambitions, but also positive pressure and confidence that I will have to be worthy of.
