Despite a somewhat complicated start to the season, the Italian rider still wants more than ever to move into MotoGP, even if it had to be done in his brother's rival team.

At the end of last season, many eyes were on Luca marini, who was gaining momentum within the Sky VR46 team and returned extremely quickly to the Championship, thanks in particular to his first victory. A move to MotoGP in 2020 could then begin to be considered, but the 22-year-old rider ultimately suffered more than expected this year, adapting to the Triumph engine taking time.

Regardless, he obviously still has the move to the premier category in mind, and has not changed his mind on how to proceed. He has in fact always maintained the idea that he would only do it in good conditions, even if it meant staying a little longer in Moto2 to wait for the right opportunity. A point of view also affirmed by one of his rivals, Álex Márquez, who has been in negotiations with Petronas to join the team in 2020. However, Yamaha has not looked favorably on the Márquez brothers evolving with different manufacturers, and the idea therefore remained there.

The same situation could occur for Marini, who could face refusals due to his relationship with Valentino Rossi. However, when he was asked if he would accept an offer from Honda to ride alongside Marc Márquez, his answer was clear. " Absolutely yes. And then I'll beat him on the track." he joked before responding more seriously: “Everyone is going in their own direction, and MotoGP would be a dream come true. If the official Honda team calls, we can't say no. »
