Mattia Pasini heads to Mugello as the third driver of the Fieten Olie Racing GP. The Dutch team will not participate with two drivers, but with three during the Italian Grand Prix in Mugello. During the sixth Grand Prix of the season, none other than Mattia Pasini will be the third driver alongside Zonta van den Goorbergh and Barry Baltus in the colors of the Dutch Grand Prix team.

Mattia Pasini has received a Moto2 wildcard for the upcoming Gran Premio d'Italia Oakley. The experienced driver from Rimini, Italy, will join Fieten Olie Racing GP as a third driver in their wildcard appearance, the team he also replaced for Barry Baltus injured in 2022 during the last round of the season in Valencia.

His work in Valencia at the end of last season was seen as very positive by both the Dutch team and the Italian driver, which gave rise to a renewed collaboration soon during the Grand Prix weekend at Mugello.

At 37 years, Mattia Pasini will share the Fieten Olie Racing GP box at Mugello with Zonta van den Goorbergh et Barry Baltus. A unique opportunity for the two talented young drivers to work together for a Grand Prix weekend with the Italian who is still so fast, very experienced and motivated.

Mattia Pasini: « After my first experience with the team last year in Valencia, when I replaced Barry, it is fantastic to soon be able to wear the colors of Fieten Olie Racing GP again at Mugello. I enjoyed the collaboration at the time: the atmosphere in the team was great and it was great to work with the team. I am grateful to Jarno, but also to the rest of the team, for this new opportunity at Mugello. Not only will I enjoy it, but I will also do everything possible to achieve the best possible result. »
Jarno Janssen: « It is of course excellent news that we will soon be at the start of Mugello with not two, but three riders. Mattia is of course not just any driver, he is someone with a lot of experience and someone who is also super fast. Mattia is no stranger to us either as he also drove for us at Valencia last season replacing Barry. This collaboration went very well for both parties at the time: It is also the basis of our soon renewed collaboration at Mugello.
I think it's also very good for our two young regular drivers within Fieten Olie Racing GP. Of course, it will be a mutual battle, but I think it is definitely also good for the further development of these two young boys, you can say a kind of internal battle between young and old. I would like to thank Mattia for the trust, it is quite an honor for us that he wants to do this project with us. In addition, it is of course also fantastic for our Italian sponsors that he joins our team at Mugello. I'm looking forward to this new adventure at Mugello and hope that this won't be the last project we do together.
