Both announced as contenders for the Moto2 title, Miguel Oliveira and Brad Binder could not do better than fifth and sixth in Qatar, very good results but far from their goal which is victory. Extremely motivated after these two weeks of break, they arrive confidently on the Termas de Río Hondo circuit which was rather successful for them in 2017.

Miguel Oliveira took the first pole position of his Moto2 career in Argentina last year, which also gave him his first podium finish. The Portuguese did not waste his time between the two Grands Prix and put all the chances on his side to bring back a good result: “After the first meeting of the season in Qatar, we had a lot of time to train. I rode a lot on a motorcycle, so as not to lose any feeling. I'm really looking forward to going back to Argentina because I love riding there, and I've had some good results there. »

Oliveira approaches the weekend calmly, without putting pressure on himself: “I don't have a specific goal, I'll just keep working, as we always do, to try to improve a little on the result of the first race. It will be a good start. »

However, he does not forget where his place is: “We must remain among the first. »

For his part, his teammate Brad Binder is just as happy to arrive at Termas de Río Hondo and for good reason, he has also achieved excellent results there in the past: “These two weeks without racing were perfect because I was able to return home to South Africa and enjoy the good weather before the second Grand Prix of the year. I can't wait to return to Argentina, where I took the first World Cup pole position of my career two years ago. I also took my first Moto2 points there last year. »

Unlike Oliveira, Binder is clearer about his objective for the weekend: “It’s a really cool circuit and I hope to be in the fight for the podium on Sunday. »
