The Moto2 started their San Marino Grand Prix in Misano with wet tires and the fastest in these conditions was Thomas Luthi, who, on Kalex of the SAG team stopped the clock with a time of 1'50.140. The No. 12 preceded Marco Bezzecchi (Sky Racing Team VR46) and Nicolò Bulega (Gresini), by 0,288s and 0,438s respectively.
Fourth beat for Jake dixon, who returns to Moto2 after two races in MotoGP. The Petronas driver precedes Sam Lowes, 31, who recently renewed his contract with the Marc VDS team and Somkiat Chantra of Thailand, Honda Team Asia. The Top Ten is completed by Augusto Fernandez (Marc VDS), Stefano Manzi (Pons), Jorge Navarro (Speed Up) and Xavi Virgo (Petronas).
The first two in the world championship preferred not to take any risks on the wet track: Rémy Gardner and Raul Fernandez (Red Bull Ajo drivers) are in twenty-second and twenty-ninth position.
