Moto2 Misano Race

The time for battle has come. For two days in Misano, two Moto2 riders were competing against each other even before the race. On one side, the brilliant Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM Ajo), leader of the championship ahead of Tony Arbolino (Elf MarcVDS Racing Team), in full confidence after having easily led the two Friday sessions. Multiple winner this season, he saw it as a good opportunity to escape the general classification. On the other, a local, Celestino Vietti (Fantic Racing). Celebrated at the Red Bull Ring, the Italian took pole position in the final moments yesterday, and was more than threatening before. Of course, we should not put aside other big names in the intermediate category like Jake Dixon (Gaviota GasGas Aspar Team) or Arón Canet (Pons WeGow Los40), who are fast in all circumstances. In the end, it was Pedro Acosta who emerged victorious from the contest in Misano, even if he crushed the competition.

Let's go, under a bright sun! Immediately, after lights out, Pedro Acosta takes the best of his opponents. He is followed by Celestine Viettithen Arón Canet.

Tony Arbolino is further behind, in battle with his teammate Sam Lowes. Pedro Acosta does not manage to escape frankly, while the fall of Senna Agius (Liqui MOly Husqvarna Intact GP) further behind. Arbolino is coming back little by little, he has one of the best rhythms on the track, but must pass many serious customers to get on top of the best.

New falls for Dennis Foggia (Italtrans Racing) and Zonta Van Den Goorbergh (Fieten Olie Racing GP). While Peter Acosta begins to widen a small gap, Aron Canet comes dangerously close to Drive. Is he the one who can stop Acosta today?

The race is now a little calmer, while driver Ajo seems to be going off on a tangent. Jake Dixon, in distress, gravitates around 15th position. But you have to be wary of still water! Aron Canet fell right now, a simple loss of the front in turn n°14. He is the man who falls the most, all categories combined. He leaves third place to the driver Speed Up Alonso Lopez, but the latter is more than three seconds away.

Celestine Vietti manages, like all the other students of the VR46 Academy, to regain time in the third sector. On the rest of the tour, however, Pedro Acosta is better. But obviously, the Spaniard is not escaping, and it is even the opposite. As in Austria, Vietti is getting closer, but less quickly.

Behind, Tony Arbolino stumbles upon Manuel Gonzalez (Correos Prepago Yamaha VR46 Master Camp) for the gain of fourth place, and he even fails to extend!

It was also very hot for Celestine Vietti ! He rewards us with a magnificent rescue – not as much as what he achieved at Le Mans which allows him to stay in the race. For information, we inform you of the abandonment of Rory Skinner (American racing). Fermin Aldeguer (Speed Up Racing), winner at Silverstone but in great difficulty at Misano, is also out of the race due to a fall. Sam Lowes imitates him a few seconds later.

At one point, it was thought that Vietti could remarry, but Peter Acosta does not weaken at all. He's just impressive, doesn't make any mistakes. The third is six seconds away; It's hard to imagine anyone else winning this round if something doesn't happen to them. Tony Arbolino finally passes Manuel González, but he will still lose points this weekend.

Vietti, solid second, still has a moment of heat! It's probably time to resign yourself. In the end, it is Peter Acosta who won almost easily: he led all the laps of this event, and did not give in to the pressure. What an incredible driver. Celestino Vietti is second, Alonso lopez completes the podium. In the final moments, a double fall condemns Izan Guevara (Aspar Team) and Lukas Tulovic (IntactGP).
