Moto2 ends its European season at Misano, where the next two rounds of the world championship will be contested. While Jake Dixon and Alonso Lopez are making a dazzling comeback on the leaders in the Riders' standings, the latter must wake up if they do not want to lose the benefit of their lead in the championship.

Even if you already know the result of this session, come and relive it with us! Before starting, Here is a table that summarizes the known facts :

The drivers set off, and the session began with an unusual scene. Deniz Öncü got out of danger, setting a satisfactory time, but then pretended to complain of pain in his crotch, following a false move made during his attempt.

The gaps are more than tight during this P2. After a few minutes of driving, Joe Roberts is only 650 thousandths of a second from the first position. The American is however outside the top-14.

In terms of time trial, Aron Canet still shows a certain dominance. The Spaniard takes advantage of the time trial he set the day before to stay in the lead. Tony Arbolino and Ai Ogura then complete the provisional top-3, three tenths behind.

Shortly before the end of the allotted time, Tony Arbolino wakes up and sets a time of 1:34.420, to take back the lead from the Iberian. Ai Ogura, Manuel Gonzalez and Fermin Aldeguer will all set a time within the same tenth, to also put themselves in front of the n°44.

The response was not long in coming, however, and Aron Canet stunned his rivals with a time of 1:35.185, to recover his initial position.

Joe Roberts (7th) and Jake Dixon (10th) also qualify directly for Q2. This is not the case for Sergio Garcia (15th), nor for Alonso Lopez (20th), trapped by the time and the small gaps that make up the top-20 (+ 0.765).

Barry Baltus failed at the gates of Q2, with the 16th fastest time. However, the Belgian is not that far behind Canet in terms of time (+ 0.691). His ranking will certainly allow him to fight for the first four positions in Q1, and thus keep his chances of qualifying well.
