Knowing how to adapt is a sine qua non condition in these times...

This morning, Moto2 was scheduled to open the second day of pre-season testing at the Losail East circuit in Qatar. For a reason that is still unknown to us, this role was assigned to Moto3, repeating the pattern from the day before and that planned for Sunday.

Is this linked to the need to preserve the Triumph engines prepared by ExternPro?

Anyway, it was first of all the 250cc which made their engines resonate this morning on the Qatari asphalt, once again having the role of cleaning the track always subject to the sandy desert wind. Consequently, the best time achieved by Jaume Masia (KTM, Red Bull KTM Ajo, #5) in 2'06.986, remained more than a second behind the reference imposed yesterday by Darryn binder (KTM, Petronas Sprinta Racing, #40). The only analogy with the day before, only 18 drivers left their box for this morning warm-up.

In Moto2, Stefano manzi (Kalex, Pons HP 40, #62) achieved the original feat of finishing the first session of the intermediate category both first and last. He is in fact the only driver to have taken to the track, a further sign that it was not perfect, just as his time of 2'02.338 indicates, 2 seconds slower than the day before. All his opponents logically preferred to stay in the box, especially since their rounds are limited to 111 units for testing days.

At midday, despite a last minute attack from the Tech 3 pilots Ayumu Sasaki et Denis Öncü, the intermediate session of Moto3 came to raise questions, with a better time, in this case achieved by Izan Guevara (Husqvarna, Sterilgarda Max Racing Team, #31) in 2'07.491, slower than this morning, and therefore even slower than yesterday.

Whether in Moto3 or Moto2, the serious things will begin this afternoon. At least we hope so…
