The wind is still blowing on the Losail circuit in Qatar, bringing its share of sand to the asphalt in addition to hindering the trajectories of the Moto2 and Moto3 for their last day of official testing before the Grand Prix.

In these conditions, it seems premature to draw definitive conclusions, even if certain trends are starting to emerge...

En Moto3, it was the rookies who impressed the paddock. Let them be called Izan Guevara (GasGas, Gaviota Aspar Team, #28), Pedro Acosta (KTM, Red Bull KTM Ajo, #37) or Xavier Artigas (Honda, Leopard Racing, #43), we found them bravely at the forefront during the different sessions, on a track that was unknown to them and in difficult conditions: hats off!

The second observation lies in the composition of the strong men of the moment, who are found almost systematically in the leading group: John mcphee (Honda, Petronas Sprinta Racing, #17), Andrea Migno (Honda, Rivacold Snipers Team, #16), Dennis Foggia (Honda, Leopard Racing, #7) and Jaume Masia (KTM, Red Bull KTM Ajo, #5) form the solid pack that we will undoubtedly have to confront if we hope to finish on one of the three steps…

This morning, Dennis Foggia et Andrea Migno fell below the 2'06 mark, despite the wind still being present, but without however matching their best time from the day before. As a reminder, the record for the best lap in the race is 2'05.403 achieved by Roman Fenati in 2019, while the absolute record is 2'04.561 established by Aron Canet in 2019. Last year's best lap during the GP was recorded in 2'05.788 thanks to Ai Ogura. For completeness, the 2020 Qatar tests ended with a 2'04.892 Filip Salač.

We then attended an expected show in Moto2, with only one driver on track. After Stefano manzi (Kalex, Pons HP 40, #62) yesterday, this morning it was the turn of Barry Baltus (NTS, NTS RW Racing GP, #70) to have the track to himself, the others preferring to save the kilometers on their Triumph engine…

The second session of Moto3 is now underway, with some Peter Acosta in the lead, in 2'05.626 at the precise moment when the times began to fall. However, we will have to wait until the last session to see the most serious attempts to tease the time and previous references.
