In Moto2 and Moto3, teams can test with contracted riders at any circuit in Europe for a maximum total of 7 days per rider during the season (except during testing ban periods (between 1st December and January 31 for winter tests). The dates of the tests and the drivers taking part must be communicated to the Race Direction before the proposed test, which must not take place within 14 days preceding an organized GP event on the chosen circuit.

The 2023 season having officially started the day after the Valencian Community Grand Prix, certain teams are therefore taking advantage of this period between November 3 and December 1 to begin their capital of 7 days of 2023 testing, starting with the Aspar team at Valencia and the Ajo team in Jerez.

The GasGas Aspar team lines up in Moto2 Izan Guevara next to Jake Dixon, and in Moto3, Ryusei Yamanaka et David Alonso. These tests in Valencia started yesterday and, at the moment, there has not yet been any official communication apart from those on social networks regarding the recent Moto3 world champion.

On the other hand, the Red Bull KTM Ajo team made a complete summary of its tests carried out in Jerez last weekend with Peter Acosta et Albert Arenas in Moto2, as well as Deniz Oncu et Jose Antonio Rueda in Moto3.

Peter Acosta continued to work alongside his team for the next year, whileAlbert Arenas worked for the first time with his new team. Peter Acosta finished its activities for the year 2022 on Sunday on the Andalusian circuit. The conditions allowed him to make the most of the day, and the recently proclaimed Moto2 Rookie of the Year completed a total of 76 laps during which he was able to focus on his goals for the 2023 pre-season.

Albert Arenas took advantage of this day of testing to adapt to his team and find a good feeling, despite the fact that the conditions on the track on Monday were not the most favorable due to the rain. After completing a total of 38 laps (23 in the dry and 15 in the wet), the Red Bull KTM Ajo Moto2 rider declared himself very enthusiastic about this new stage and concluded the day with his eyes fixed on the 'next year.

Peter Acosta et Albert Arenas will return to work in 2023, with another test at the Jerez – Ángel Nieto circuit, on March 14 and 15, 2023.

Aki Ajo, Team Director: “ The most important thing in Moto2 was being able to do a test at the end of 2022. This year the testing days are limited and it is important to make the most of them. We had the opportunity to try new things with Pedro, which will help us to have a good plan and better performances next season. As for Albert, it was important that he could start working with the group, as this can help him focus on his pre-season. The team works well and it helps to get to know and understand each other to get the best setup for him. »

Peter Acosta : « It was a very productive test. We were able to test a lot of things and the results we got from this test were good. We leave Jerez with a good taste in our mouth and with clear objectives for the next pre-season tests. »

Albert Arenas : " After the first days of working with the team, the feeling is very positive about the bike and the team. We had time to get to know each team member and work as much as the weather allowed. In the dry, I was able to adapt well to the bike, and I was also able to ride in the wet to improve my feeling on the bike and practice starts. It wasn't the most perfect day, but it was a productive test and I'm very excited to go into the winter break after that. I can't wait to get back on this bike and start 2023 with the team! »

In Moto3, if the tests of Deniz Oncu were limited to one day, like his Moto2 teammates, Jose Antonio Rueda had three days to adapt to his KTM after winning the title with a Honda in JuniorGP.

Deniz Oncu completed an intense day of work, completing a total of 69 laps on the Spanish circuit. The Turkish rider progressed steadily and finished his first test with Red Bull KTM Ajo with a very positive feeling. Jose Antonio Rueda, meanwhile, has worked to adapt to his new team and the bike. With 165 laps completed, the Spaniard was very satisfied with the work accomplished despite finishing earlier than expected due to track conditions.

Deniz Oncu et Jose Antonio Rueda will carry out their next tests on the Spanish circuit on March 9 and 10.

Aki Ajo, Team Manager: “ This test was very important for us because both Moto3 riders are new for next season. They both worked with the team and things went very well, and that's the most important thing because we have fewer testing days for next year. Deniz only rode one day, but he found a good understanding with the team and put in a good performance. Jose Antonio had three days to work because he is a rookie, and it was his first time with the KTM. He maintained a good level and we are satisfied with the results of these days. »

Deniz Oncu : " We finished the first day of work with the bike and with the team. It was a very good day because we had a good starting point with the settings. I progressed throughout the day and the feeling is good. I'm happy to come back to the team and that we can compete together in 2023. »

Jose Antonio Rueda : " These three days of testing went very well. We improved a little more every day and we feel better on the bike. I would like to thank the team because I felt very comfortable working with them and I was able to learn a lot during these first days. It's a shame that on the last day we couldn't continue a little more but I'm very happy and can't wait to start 2023."
