While the MotoGP have already had the opportunity to preview the 2025 season by taking part in a first official test on the Barcelona-Catalunya circuit, some Moto2 and Moto3 teams have met in Jerez de la Frontera to prepare for next year.

On Thursday, a few drivers started driving on the track rented by Ajo Motorsport but no times were published, unlike this Friday when the transponders were operational. The weather was also there with a clear sky from 10am to 18pm, and a maximum of 20° in the afternoon allowing good performances.

En Moto2 The Red Bull KTM Ajo teams were present with Deniz Oncu et Colin Veijer, Italtrans Racing Team with Adrian Huertas, Pramac Yamaha Moto with Tony Arbolino et Izan Guevara, CFMOTO Aspar Team with Daniel Holgado and the recent Moto3 world champion David Alonso, as well as MT Helmets-MSI with Ivan Ortola.

In the end, and after 85 laps of the 4,4 kilometer track, it is Deniz Oncu which proved to be the fastest, setting a time of 1'40.679. For comparison, Fermin Aldeguer had achieved 1'40.307 during the official test of February-March 2024, then pole position in 1'40.673 at the end of April.

The time achieved by the Turkish driver is therefore very solid, especially since although the conditions were quite favourable, the Andalusian track was certainly not as rubbed as during official tests.

Also note thatAdrian Huertas seems to have quickly adapted to the rigid chassis and the three-cylinder Triumph of his Moto2 Kalex, in place of the Ducati Panigale V2 which allowed him to win the Supersport title this year…

En Moto3, we found generally the same structures with the Red Bull KTM Ajo teams with Jose Antonio Rueda et Alvaro Carpe, CFMOTO Aspar Team with Maximo Quiles et Dennis Foggia, MT Helmets-MSI with Angel Piqueras, as well as the CIP Green Power with Scott Ogden.

Here again, the Finnish team got their money's worth, Jose Antonio Rueda completing 110 laps and 1'44.412, better than the pole position obtained in 1'44.954 by David Alonso during the Spanish Grand Prix.

Red Bull KTM Garlic even does the double since Jose Antonio Rueda precedes his teammate Alvaro Carpe, winner of the 2024 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup.

As far as we know, there will be no other private test this year.
