Overshadowed by the tremendous wave unleashed by Johann zarco after the French Grand Prix MotoGPLast Monday and Tuesday, Le Mans hosted two days of official testing, one for Moto3 and the other for Moto2.
The 250cc class had the honor of starting its tests following the Grand Prix, and many teams participated.
The winner of the day before, the Spaniard Jose Antonio Rueda was present, as well as his teammate in the Red Bull KTM Ajo colors, Alvaro Carpe, 4th in the GP, and the two drivers did not pretend, obtaining respectively the 2nd and 3rd best times during FP1.
However, it is the rookie of the Red Bull KTM Tech3 team, the Argentinian Valentin Perrone, 10th in the GP, who set the best time in 1'40.375, less than 4 tenths off the absolute track record held by Maximo Quiles in 1'39.947.
All other drivers were more than half a second behind and were unable to improve in FP2 as the rain made an appearance.
In Moto2, on Tuesday, few teams saw fit to stay two more days in Sarthe to take advantage of this day of testing.
Among them, only QJMOTOR – FRINSA – MSI and KLINT Forward Factory Team were complete, but it was Onlyfans American Racing Team, with Joe Roberts, which proved to be the fastest, with a best time of 1'34.668, 3 tenths off the circuit record set three days earlier by Manuel Gonzalez (LIQUI MOLY Dynavolt Intact GP) in 1'34.315 before winning the Grand Prix.
