Nicholas Bulega made himself known to the world of Grand Prix winning the FIM CEV Moto3 championship in 2015 under the colors of Junior Team VR46 Riders Academy.

Logically integrating the structure of Valentino Rossi in the world championship the following year, the young Italian, now 21 years old, had a good first year, finishing seventh in the general classification.

Unfortunately, the native of Emilia-Romagna did not confirm subsequently and even saw his results deteriorate over the years to reach a very modest 26th place in 2018 following injuries, before making the jump to Moto2.

In 2019, still under the Sky VR46 colors, he finished 17th in the championship before leaving the Doctor's structure for the benefit of Fausto Gresini's team: a sort of double or nothing challenge which, in the end, does not really seem to have bore fruit, since it concludes this 2020 season in 20th position, with only 32 points.

Worse, the last race of the season caused him to crash in the first lap, forcing him to have an operation on his right shoulder last Thursday.

This season, with an eighth place as the best result and seven races outside the points, is therefore roughly to be forgotten, which Nicholas Bulega seems to take with a certain fatalism: “As has often happened this season, we weren't lucky this time either. Now it's time to catch your breath and return to work as soon as possible in preparation for the 2021 season. Many thanks to Dr. Porcellini for operating quickly and perfectly. I can't wait to get back on the bike. »

The contract with Fausto Gresini expires at the end of 2021. Enough to spur on a once-promising talent...
