Moto2 Qatar Qualifying: Joe Roberts regains his record!

Qualification-1:

At the end of the first flying round, it is Alonso Lopez who directs operations 1'58.619 in front Dennis Foggia, Filip Salac and Darryn Binder.

On the next pass, the SpeedUp driver improved to 1'58.168 ahead Darryn Binder, Celestino Vietti and Izan Guevara.

Marcos Ramirez then goes back to second position, Albert Arenas in the fourth, and we already attack the second part of the session in which no one stops to change a new tire.

Alonso lopez tries to respond and improves his personal best time, but Celestine Vietti did the same in the last minute, in 1'57.792.

Jeremy Alcove et Marcos Ramirez integrate the coveted top 4 in their last round, while Celestine Vietti has the luxury of further improving his time to 1'57.568.

Qualification-2:

15 minutes also for the big names in the category who will now try to undermine the brand new track record achieved by Celestine Vietti.

Fermin Aldeguer is first in 1'57.765 in his first flying lap: we are 2/10 away from the circuit record!

Aron canet replied on the next lap in 1'57.735 then Celestine Vietti shows that he is still hot in Q1 in 1'57.713 and 1'57.312: yet another new circuit record!

There are then five minutes left to try to do better but no sector lights up red, only orange, a sign of personal improvement that does not endanger the best time achieved.

Fermin Aldeguer et Joe Roberts are lying to us, the American pilot dislodging Celestino Vietti from pole position thanks to a 1'57.305!

In the last minute, only the first sectors are subject to improvement and things seem to be looking good for Joe Roberts who held the old circuit record since 2020.

Finally, the session was stopped at the red flag 30 seconds from the checkered flag, Alex Escrig spreading oil liberally on the track.
