Fabio Quartararo did not have exactly the journey he hoped for in Moto3, but the Frenchman managed, despite the difficulties, to preserve his status as a serious hope in motorcycle speed and to continue his rise. This season he will thus be a beginner in Moto2 within a Pons team whose track record speaks for itself. On the official website MotoGP.com, the tricolor looked back on two complicated years which forged its character and strengthened its determination.

Having arrived in the Grand Prix crowned with two titles won in the prestigious Spanish Moto3 championship, Fabio Quartararo also entered the scene in colors which had been so successful for the brothers Márquez. A parallel with which Fabio had to compose, and from the first races, all the good things we thought of him were confirmed. It took a bad injury to break the good momentum that he then wanted to find within the team crowned in 2015 with a Honda, and which had just chosen a KTM for 2016.

A good choice on paper, but on the track the story was different. He explains : " we encountered a lot of problems and the team and I had difficulty adapting to the KTM on all the events ". A difficulty that remains a mystery: “ However, looking at Binder's performance, we knew that the KTM had no particular problems. However, I always had a different bike in each race. I never felt the same ».

He specifies : " adaptation was not my problem, but I missed adapting quickly to a bike that was not well adjusted to be at the front. During the first sessions of the weekend on circuits that I didn't know very well like Misano or Sepang and when I felt good on the bike, I was able to easily fight for the Top 10 ».

Still, it is also in difficulty that we grow and these two years have hardened a Fabio who now has a tempered steel character to face the Moto2 deadline: “ these two Moto3 seasons were difficult but I think 2016 was the most difficult year for me. It helped me to always stay positive and never give up. I also learned to fight. In CEV, the races were different from those in the World Championship. Having the experience of fighting for victories or podiums helped me a lot ". In 2017, Fabio will team up with Edgar Pons.
