Today in Rome, at the Palace of Sports Federations, 74 Tiziano Street, the procedure against Romano Fenati at Italian Federal Court.
Before the trial began, Fenati and his defenders requested a negotiation, presenting Fenati's apologies for what had happened and assuming full acknowledgment of the facts.
Once the sanction of withdrawal of the license for a period of eight months was determined, taking into account the attitude of the admission of the facts by Romano Fenati, the sanction was reduced by a third by the Federal Court.
Federal prosecutor Antonio De Girolamo explained the decision thus: "We do not want to crucify Fenati, but we do not pretend that nothing happened."
After agreement with the federal prosecutor, the sanction of license withdrawal is therefore redefined for a period of 5 months and 10 days. The deadline is calculated from the start of the preventive suspension (11-09-2018), so that the end of the license suspension is set for February 21, 2019.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Fenati said: “I work hard in the hardware store. I don't even follow the races on TV, in fact I don't even know how the ones in Australia went... Now I will calmly think of a solution for next year"
