Since leaving the VR46 academy, Lorenzo Baldassarri has been looking for himself. But is not found. His good performances in Moto2 are rare and we find him more often than not at the bottom of the ranking. Disappointing for Sito Pons who is not known for being empathetic, he will change direction to return to the origins, the Forward team. Even today badged MV Agusta, the structure does not have the reputation of improving the careers of its drivers, who today are Manzi and Corsi…

But it remains a handlebar. MV Agusta Forward Racing is therefore pleased to announce that Lorenzo Baldassarri will be one of the team's two riders in the 2021 MotoGP World Championship, Moto2 category. The driver, born in 1996, will then join the official MV Agusta team for next season.

Baldassarri had previously raced for the Forward Racing team during the 2015-16-17 seasons and then changed teams over the past three years.

Originally from Montecosaro, Lorenzo “Balda” Baldassarri made his debut in the Moto3 world championship in 2013, then moved to Moto2 in 2014, taking his first podiums (Australia 2015 and Mugello 2016) and his first victory at Misano 2016 with the Forward Racing team.

“I am very happy with the chance they are giving me”

The following seasons continue to see him frequently as protagonist, in 2018: 1 victory in Jerez and 4 podiums in Qatar, Mugello, Aragon and Japan while in 2019: 3 victories in Qatar, Argentina and Jerez. In 2020, he won 1 podium in Qatar.

« I'm very happy with the chance they're giving me »Comments Baldassarri. " First of all because I was already in this team and I thank Giovanni Cuzari for trusting me. We hit the “pause” button but now it’s great to hit the “forward” button and continue work that has been interrupted. For me, it's also an honor to present myself for such an important brand, which has so much history behind it and it would be great to bring it back to the top of the charts ».

He finishes : " I want to thank everyone who believes in me and continues to support me, even if the results are not helpful at the moment. Thank you to all the people who stay by my side, who work with me and to all my family ».
