Returning a few days ago from the Argentine Grand Prix, the MV Agusta Forward Racing team unfortunately had to announce that Stefano Manzi will not be able to participate in the Grand Prix of the Americas in Austin, which will take place on the weekend of 12, 13 and April 14.

In fact, the VR46 Riders Academy cadet returned to Europe last Monday, and immediately underwent additional examinations after the bad fall that occurred during the first lap of the race at Termas de Rio Hondo. From there, a fracture of the right scaphoid was revealed and the Italian driver will have to undergo an operation by Dr. Morigi next Tuesday (9/04/2019).

Gabriel Ruiu (18 years old) will replace him for the third round of the season. The young Italian rider has already matured for 2 years in Moto2 in the FIM CEV championship, then continues his motorcycle experience by participating in a few races of the Superbike World Championship, where he became known as the youngest rider to have scored points in the championship, as well as in the World SuperSport.

For now, the replacement of Stefano Manzi is only considered for the Grand Prix of the Americas.

Gabriel Ruiu: “First of all, I wish Stefano a speedy recovery. At the same time, I am very excited about this opportunity. I can't wait to get on the track and compete with the best motorcyclists in the world on a historic brand of two-wheeler. I will try to learn as much as possible to get the most out of this experience. See you in Texas! ".
