Moto2 Silverstone Qualifying: Marco Bezzecchi, on the move, snatches pole and the track record

Great Britain is hosting the twelfth round of the MotoGP World Championship this weekend. The Silverstone track, five kilometers long, hitherto bathed in pale sunshine, will see the Moto2 qualifying rounds among other disciplines take place today. 

Since Friday, in turn, the line has been held by Jorge Navarro in FP1, Raul Fernandez in FP2 and Aron Canet in FP3 this morning. The times have also evolved (2.04.896 Jorge Martin, 2.04.501s Raúl Fernandez) to see this morning Aron canet, from the Aspar team, beat the track record in 2.04.180s, a record held since 2019 by Alex Marquez.

The leader of the World Championship, Remy gardner is followed by his teammate Raul Fernandez at only 19 points. Marco Bezzecchi is the 3rd man in this leading trio, 39 strides behind the leader.

The time for qualifying has come and, with it, firstly Q1 from which 4 drivers will emerge who will join the 14 drivers qualified this morning in FP3 for the Q2 session.

Q1 session:

It is Manzi who signs the best provisional time of the session in 2.05.148s ahead of Ogura, Chantra and Virgin.

2 minutes from the finish, the positions do not change: Manzi in 2.04.690s ahead of Ogura in 2.05.131s, Chantra in 2.05.254s, Virginie in 2.05.266s.

Syarhin suffers from back pain..., he didn't ride.

Lowes takes the lead in 2.04.790s. The Briton improved on the next lap in 2.04.069s. He beats the record taken this morning by Canet. Gardner, R. Fernandez, Di Giannantonio and Bezzecchi complete this top5

By Giannantonio very fast seizes 2nd position (2.04.372s), he is pushed back to 3rd by Gardner which sets a lap time of 2.04.195s. R. Fernandez et A. Fernandez complete the top5
