On Sunday, the Red Bull KTM KTM Ajo Moto2 team once again demonstrated why Phillip Island is one of the team's most favorite circuits, after winning at the Australian circuit for the third year in a row.

Brad Binder, who started from 3rd position and led the race from start to finish, recorded his third victory of the season and is now the driver with the most victories in the team's history. Red Bull KTM rider Ajo maintained a steady pace throughout the laps, trying to stay ahead of teammate Jorge Martin as the Spaniard looked to chase him down. Binder gets his third victory at Phillip Island and his third victory this year. With this result, he climbs to third place in the championship with 209 points, and he is still in the race for the title of Moto2 World Champion, two races from the finish.

Brad Binder : " It's great to be on the podium again, but today was not an easy race. The gap with Jorge [Martin] increased and decreased throughout the race, but I never got away from him. I gave it my all, attacking from the first to the last lap, and we maintained a good pace throughout the race. I am very happy to have contributed to the 1-2 for Red Bull KTM Ajo and, of course, it is always a very good feeling to win in the World Championship. »

George Martin finished second to complete a magnificent double podium, achieving his best result in the intermediate category to date. The Spaniard made an excellent start from 5th position, reaching second place on the first lap. Martin followed the South African, as he broke away from the rest of the peloton. This is the second consecutive podium for the reigning Moto3 World Champion, highlighting his excellent progress in his rookie season in Moto2. Red Bull KTM team rider Ajo is now 11th in the general classification, with 83 points.

George Martin : " In these last three races, I felt very good to fight in the leading group and I am very happy about that. Today the race was a little easier than in Japan, because starting at the front is always a plus. I tried to follow Brad, but he was pushing really hard. The pace he showed was incredible, he was going very fast. In the end, second place is fine and Brad deserved the win. I am very satisfied with the result, also for the team, because they deserve the double podium. I'm already looking forward to the next GP. »

Aki Ajo : " It was a great weekend for us at Phillip Island. The conditions kept changing throughout the Grand Prix, especially on Saturday, which was a difficult day. But I'm happy that we were the fastest in the first practice session, both in the dry and in the wet. Expectations for the race were high and we got a 1-2, so I'm very happy. Brad [Binder] led the race from start to finish, but I also have to say that Jorge [Martin] took a step forward in the last three rounds, and I think that's a very good sign for the race. 'future. »
