Jake Dixon and his new team, Elf Marc VDS Racing, conclude their Moto2 winter test in Jerez with optimism. After five days of intensive testing (in Portugal and then Spain), the team is preparing for the longest season in Moto2 history, which begins on March 2 in Buriram, Thailand. In the meantime, the Briton will have to recover from the intensity of this preparation.

Jake Dixon has made steady progress on his new Boscoscuro chassis. The Briton completed 134 laps over the three days of testing this week at Jerez, improving his times significantly as the sessions progressed. On the final day, he set a time of 1:40.179, to finish just behind the leader of the week's final outing, Deniz Oncu.

“The tests went well and now I can’t wait to race, entrusts Jake Dixon. The team and I have definitely worked hard and tried a lot of different settings on the bike to be as prepared as possible for Thailand next week.”

Although the results are not comparable to those he achieved last week in Portimao, the British driver underlines the intensity of the work accomplished. We have gathered so much information that my brain hurts now. We just need to sit down together and analyse everything to put together the best package for the first race."

A start to the season for which he is rather optimistic. “I’m happy with how the test went and now I’m looking forward to getting back to racing in Thailand. It will be cool to start the season in a different place for once and I can’t wait to get started.”

As a reminder, the first round of the season could not be held in Qatar, as is traditionally the case, due to the dates of Ramadan. With these three positive days of testing, the Marc VDS Racing team seems ready to take on the challenges of the 2025 Moto2 season which, given the times observed, promises to be intense and competitive.
