After the official MotoE tests and the private Moto3 tests, these are the Moto2 who got started today on the Autodromo do Algarve in Portimao, as part of private tests.

Private but attractive, since no less than 27 drivers responded, just a few days before the first official tests of the year 2024 which will take place in Jerez next week.

The long, cold and uninterrupted session from 9:30 a.m. to 17:30 p.m. local time began timidly with only a few drivers on a wet track, under the command of a Tony Arbolino (ELF Marc VDS Racing Team) running around 2 minutes.

It was only around 15:00 p.m. that things started to liven up with a clear improvement in the track, Marcos Ramirez (Only Fans American Racing Team), Aron Canet (Fantic Racing) and finally Manuel Gonzalez (QJMotor Gresini Moto2 Team) alternately rising to the top of the ranking, 3 minutes before the checkered flag for the Gresini rider, thanks to a time of 1'42.797.

As a reminder, Peter Acosta had clocked 1'41.907 during the official 2023 IRTA tests, while the official track record belongs to Aron Canet in 1'42.003.

On-track activities will continue tomorrow from 10:30 a.m. to 18:30 p.m. French time, hoping for warmer skies.
