Varying track conditions await the riders in the Moto2 category today for this third free practice session on the Buriram track in Thailand. Yesterday, it was Luca Marini who set the pace by finishing in the lead in both sessions combined. He held off his opponents, Tetsuta Nagashima and Somkiat Chantra, the local driver, who finished second and third respectively. Álex Márquez, the championship leader, finished the first day in fifth position.

Very quickly, the track dries, the lap times drop and it's Chantra, the local driver who takes the best in 1.36.726s before Marini et Marquez. Marina attack hard just like Gardner who will get the time of the Thai pilot, in 1.36.582s.
Márquez does the same and in turn recovers the best time in 1.36.423s. Gardner, Marini, Binder on the KTM and Nagashima form the top5.

Japanese Nagashima, very impactful, takes the lead in the operations by setting a very good time in 1.36.156s. kick of Márquez into turn 7 and Dixon at the same location.

3 minutes from the end of the session, Marini goes on the offensive and takes the best time in 1.35.998s before Gardner et Chantra. But it moves and Open up in turn takes the best time in 1.35.962s before Martin et Gardner. kick of Fernandez and Locatelli in turn 3 and 5.
Open up closed the session having achieved the best time.
