The MotoGP grand final will take place this weekend in Valencia and will thus close the 2019 season. Tom Lüthi alongside his teammate Marcel Schrötter, will work to ensure that his Dynavolt Intact GP team wins the team title of the Moto2 World Championship but not only…

So thatAlex Marquez has just been crowned Moto2 World Champion at Sepang, a fortnight ago, the fight for second place on the podium rages between Brad Binder, the pilot KTM, and the Swiss Tom Luthi. The South African driver only has a small lead of four points over his pursuer. Mathematically,  Jorge Navarro can still play spoilsport between these two, but he is still 24 points behind Binder. Complicated but possible…

« Of course, the expectations for the final race weekend are quite high,” admitted Tom Luthi. “It’s amazing how quickly the season has gone by. The last three overseas races have been very successful and there is still a chance to get the runner-up spot and I want to seize this opportunity »

« It is important to stay focused as much as possible on the latter over the weekend and take as many points as possible. We will then see what our position will be after the Valencia final. But I am very confident”, declared optimistically the 33-year-old driver, who finished second in 2016 and 2017. “ We have done a very good job in the last three races. We also understood the bike better in terms of tuning. I hope we can do a good job over the weekend and prepare ourselves by making the right adjustments in order to have a good race. I'm looking forward to it and I'm fully motivated to fully attack again » continues Thomas Luthi.

For the Dynavolt Intact GP Team in Valencia, the crown is still in sight: the Memminger team is only 14 points behind the Flex 40 HP 40 team with its drivers Baldassarri et Fernandez.

Additional Motivation for Marcel Schrötter who will give everything for his teammate to achieve this goal. “ I'm going to Valencia with mixed feelings. It's the last race of the season and that makes me a little sad.", declared the German pilot. “ In general and also for the team, I had a very good season. Tom is still fighting for the runner-up title and the team can still win the team classification and that is the clear goal for this weekend, also for me personally! I just want to give it all again » confides the 26-year-old pilot

« In Malaysia I had a good feeling with the bike and we were fast and involved all weekend. It worked really well after so many race weekends where we were far away », recalled the teammate of Tom Luthi. “ My goal is to bring that to Valencia and have fun there again. I'm going to give it my all. We really deserve it after such a season and after the long drought in which we also had to deal with my injury. The season could have been great without that, but that's how everything went well in the end. I hope we can get a decent result in Valencia” concludes the Pflugdorf pilot.
