The Moto3s and Moto2s played overtime in Aragon for useful tests for the last four races on the program this year, but also for next year. With four Grands Prix to go, the race for the title is still open in Moto2. However, like Márquez in MotoGP in his equally contested championship, Franco Morbidelli has gained an advantage over his rival Lüthi. The Swiss came runner-up to the Italian with nine points behind, and is now pushed back to 21 lengths. What's more, with problems with his Kalex.

Problems that persisted during the tests. A situation explained by the one who will move up to MotoGP in 2018 to be a teammate of his current rival in Moto2: “ I spun and spun and spun some more, but I didn't solve the traction problem I encountered during Sunday's race. It's frustrating. I'm not going to say "wow, these tests were great", because that's not the case at all. I drove at the limit, but we didn't overcome this difficulty ».

The continuation overseas therefore promises to be complicated: “ we must determine with what base of settings we are going to go to Motegi. It is a different route from Aragon. But we have good experience with this route. Afterwards, it will be Phillip Island which offers totally different characteristics. But Aragon will have been interesting with its fairly low grip ».

Having said that, Lüthi is perhaps hiding his game. Last year, in fact, the CarXpert driver had completed exactly the same route in Aragon, i.e. a seventh position on the grid then a fourth place in the race. Then, he won the Japanese and Australian Grands Prix and placed sixth in Malaysia then second in the Valencia final. Make no mistake, the Swiss will indeed be dangerous until the end...
