Moto3 Valencia Race

The battle promised to be tough on the Valencia side for this final Moto2 race in 2023. Finally, at the end of the effort, Fermín Aldeguer seized first position and celebrated a well-deserved triumph. He becomes the first rider since Toni Elias to take four consecutive victories in Moto2. Before lights out, the situation was fairly easy to read; three drivers clearly stood out during the first two days. First of all, Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM Ajo), the world champion since Sepang, in the lead after Friday practice. We all know his speed, and his status made him a natural candidate for victory. On the other hand, Fermin Aldeguer (Speed Up Racing), the man of the moment, previously on a streak of three consecutive victories. He did not hesitate to lower the lap record by almost a second on Saturday morning. And finally, the pole sitter, Aron Canet (Pons WeGow Los40). For the Pons Racing team's last outing in Moto2, the native of Corbera in the province of Valencia wanted to make an impression, after 19 podiums without a victory in the intermediate category. Objective succeeded, in part, with a pole out of nowhere.

So, even if you already know the outcome of this race, come relive it with us! Before we begin, here is a table which summarizes the known facts:

Skies still clear in Valencia for the last Moto2 outing in 2023. It won't be long before the lights go out... Let's go!

As soon as the lights go out, Fermin Aldeguer flies away without asking for its remainder. What explosiveness! But a big accident at the back slows everyone down. Sergio Garcia (Pons WeGow Los40), the rookie of the year, is involved, Izan Guevara (GasGas Aspar Moto3) and Celestino Vietti (Fantic Racing) are also on the ground!

Then it's the turn of Kohta Nozane (Correos Prepago Yamaha VR46 Master Camp) who finds the path to the gravel! But what is happening in Moto2?

Aldeguer is ahead, but Aron Canet, who is tackling a motorcycle in the colors of all the Pons Racing liveries over the last 25 years, intends to give him a hard time. Alonso lopez (Speed Up Racing) is holding Pedro Acosta in failure, the two finally meet again! The future GasGas rider in MotoGP is not even in the top 10! He gets pushed around by his teammate Albert Arenas, but also Ai Ogura (Honda Team Asia) and Manuel Gonzalez (Correos Prepago Yamaha VR46 Master Camp).

Fermin Aldeguer continues to drive the point home, but Aron canet is absolutely not far away. The two have opened up a significant gap over the rest of the field. Lukas Tulovic (Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP) falls in turn. Between Aldeguer et Jake dixon, third place overall is also at stake! The Briton is fourth, he must free himself from Marcos Ramirez (American Racing) to keep a chance.

Aron canet is losing ground. Pedro Acosta, Ai Ogura et Tony Arbolino (Elf MarcVDS Racing Team) are in decline. Alonso Lopez is on fire! He takes fourth position on Jake dixon with the manner, the Spaniard is still as hard on the man.

In front of, Fermin Aldeguer does not weaken. He is absolutely incredible, sensational, consistent as can be. If he wins, he could equal a record set in 2010! Become the first pilot since Toni Elias to win four consecutive Grand Prix in the intermediate category.

Alonso lopez is a tightrope walker, here he attacks Marcos Ramirez in the most spectacular way! Striking. The race calmed down. We do not see how victory could escape Fermin Aldeguer, which is almost three seconds ahead of Aron canet, himself four seconds ahead Alonso lopez. Sam Lowes (Elf MarcVDS Racing Team) is not ridiculous for his last in Moto2; he is seventh, well ahead of the champion – and vice – world champion.

Dixon is too hurt to defend his position. Under the pressure of Somkiat Chantra (Honda Team Asia), He yields.

Aldeguer is on another planet, there are no other words. It takes almost half a second from everyone else per turn. He is going to get his third place in the championship, there is no longer any doubt about it.

Only one more round to go. All positions seem fixed... except the third. Alonso lopez remains under threat of Marcos Ramirez, but ultimately, he resists!

That’s it for this season! Fermin Aldeguer wins for the fourth consecutive time, a first since 2010. He is followed by Aron canet, second again. Pons Racing can be proud of its career, this team had a major influence on the 2000s and 2010s. Alonso lopez, the other Boscoscuro/Speed Up Racing driver, is third.

Aldeguer takes third place in the championship, while Peter Acosta was in distress. Sam Lowes leaves the world championship from seventh place, and heads towards other horizons, still with MarcVDS.
