Having barely got off their machines at the end of the qualifying session for the Valencia Grand Prix, the three fastest drivers in the session delivered their first impressions to the microphone of the MotoGP official website.

Simone Corsi (MV Agusta Forward Racing/poleman):

« It's an incredible day, it's great for my team and me. Yesterday and this morning I didn't have very good feelings with my bike. In particular, I didn't have much grip at the rear, but my sensations started to improve during Q1, and once I was able to put on new tires during Q2 I went there at bottom and it did it! »

Celestino Vietti (Sky Racing Team VR46/second)

« I am very happy because we have worked a lot this year because during the first part of the season we were in great difficulty. We made good progress on the bike as well as my riding style during the last rounds, so I'm happy because it allows me today to get this first row, which is the very first for me in Moto2. However, I think we are going to have a very difficult race tomorrow, because all the drivers have a fairly similar level. So we'll see what I can do tomorrow, I hope to have a good race. »

Augusto Fernández (Elf Marc VDS Racing Team/third):

« We had made good progress on the bike since this morning. But we were indeed missing a little something to perform better during our time attacks. Our pace was certainly good but we were missing something, especially with the new tires. But I think we were able to find an area of progress which should also benefit us tomorrow during the first of the race. »

« I will indeed try to stay with the guys in front during the first half of the race. For the second part of the event I'm not too worried because I feel very good in terms of pace and with the worn tires. So we'll see what this last race of the season has in store for us. »
