The KTM era in Moto2 ends with the victory of Brad Binder. In addition to the victory, the South African took home the place of vice-world champion which he stole from Tom Lüthi's nose and beard during this last event of the season in Valencia.
Brad Binder took his fifth victory of the season after a brilliant race in Valencia. However, he missed the world title by only three points which he conceded to Alex Marquez.
« These last races, the last three races in particular have been incredible for the team and me! I wasn't too worried about this weekend. I knew I had to stay ahead of Tom in the race. But now I miss the title by 3 points! I don't know if I should laugh or cry... But considering how difficult the season started... What a year! The start of the season was so difficult, we toiled and worked – and now we have won the last three races » commented the 24-year-old pilot.
« Tom made it difficult for me today. He had good rhythm. And I really struggled to get past him. I had to find all the tricks to double it. Winning three races in a row is an incredible feeling » said movedly, the teammate of George Martin.
« I wanted to pass Tom on the first lap. But honestly, that wasn't possible. “, said the satisfied South African with a laugh. Brad Binder will enter the premier category next year in the official KTM team. Substitute Johann zarco who has thrown in the towel, he will have as a teammate, Pol Espargaro.
