It is not yet official but, according to our sources, it is certain: Ayumu Sasaki will ride again in 2021 under the colors of Hervé Poncharal's Red Bull KTM Tech3 team.

After a logical adaptation phase at the start of the year due to his switch from a Honda to a KTM, the 19-year-old Japanese rider has just shown that he has reached the level of the best, notably with a splendid comeback to at the head of the Austrian Grand Prix before being penalized by a long lap, then the best warmup time and the best race lap during the Styrian Grand Prix.

Closer to that of MotoGP than for Hondas, "KTM riding" is therefore acquired, confidence has been established and, in this positive environment, this renewal for an additional year should allow the one who has already won the Asia Talent Cup (in 2015) then the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup (in 2016) to concentrate on his only current objective, his first podium and his first Grand Prix victory!

Having arrived full-time on the world stage in 2017 with the SIC Racing Team (currently Petronas Sprinta Racing) obtaining the title of Rookie of the Year, the man who will turn 20 in October has already obtained a pole position in Germany in 2019. Soon the next one?
