It was very difficult for Alberto Arenas, born on December 11, 1996 in Girona, to begin his 2018 season. His first results during free practice for the Qatar GP were not impressive, with 16th place in FP1 on his KTM from Angel Nieto Team, 17th in FP2, 23rd in FP3 and also 23rd in qualifying. He was again in 23rd position during the warm up when he crashed.

The cause was quickly understood when Albert, getting up, pointed to his right collarbone with his left index finger, without the slightest hesitation. His diagnosis proved correct and he had to withdraw from the Grand Prix.

Albert Arenas was operated on Wednesday morning at the Dexeus University Hospital for the fracture of his right clavicle by Doctor Mir.

The pilot of theAngel Nieto Team underwent open reduction, with internal fixation using a titanium plate. Arenas remained in the hospital overnight from Wednesday to Thursday and will be able to begin functional rehabilitation in three days.

Albert Arenas arrived in Moto3 Grand Prix full-time in 2016, replacingAlexis Masbou at Peugeot MC Saxoprint. FIM Vice-Champion CEV Repsol Moto3 in 2015, the Catalan later moved to Aspar Mahindra in 2017, with an eighth place at Misano. But he missed six events due to injuries and had to settle for 26th place overall. He hopes to relaunch in 2018 with the KTM of the same team. Let's hope that the Argentine Grand Prix marks a more favorable start to his season.

The above equipment is used to improve recovery after cycling training. It has nothing to do with the injury mentioned in this article.
