The Suzuki representative knows the Moto3 rider well with whom he shares many of his daily training sessions and off-road moments, in addition to living very close to him, and believes that he has every chance of being titled in 2020.

During the only Moto3 race held so far, Albert Arenas showed the milestone he has achieved since last year by winning his second victory in the category. He was able to stay in the leading group until the end to finally prove to be the smartest and not get caught by the slipstream in the long Losail straight, a demonstration applauded by Alex Rins.

“Arenas' victory made me happy because I know how hard he worked during the pre-season, training hard”, he told Diario AS. “I really liked his race because it wasn't just one victory among many, it was really a victory with a capital T. He led a good part of the race and decided to attack a shortly before the end. »

The Aspar driver's last victory dates back to Misano 2019, his first in the category and which then took on its full importance. Indeed, in addition to finally managing to win, he had also saved his handlebars for 2020. “Last year, Albert suffered a lot at the start of the year when he fractured his pelvis in a bicycle accident, for something stupid to boot”, explained Rins. “We were driving together and at a roundabout he thanked a car that was letting us pass, he drove over a pothole and fell. Starting this way disrupts the rest of the season. »

The Championship is still long, and should normally resume in Jerez, but Rins thinks that if his friend “keep his feet on the ground and continue to train like he does, he can be champion this year. » He bets on him thus: “Moto3 is a fairly complicated category because twenty riders can win in each race. If he stays focused and gives his all, I think he can do very good things. »
