Moto3 Qualifying

This season, Moto3 qualifying does not hold many surprises despite the small gaps recorded in the category. The reason for this has a name; Ayumu Sasaki, Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP rider, already pole-sitter three times in six races before entering this session. Friday, during the first free practice session, he was already breaking the track record. But Mother Nature could well thwart her plans: P2 and P3 took place in torrential rain. In the wet, Matteo Bertelle (Honda Snipers Team) and Xavi Artigas (CFMoto Racing Prüstel GP) stood out during the two respective sessions, which leaves the door open for surprises.

Finally, it is Ayumu Sasaki, him again, who will start from the best position tomorrow, after a lap worthy of the greatest. Relive the qualifying process with us. But first, here is a table which summarizes the known facts:

Fortunately, the sun is back in Saxony. The track is perfectly dry, ready to welcome the heroes of the smallest categories. This Q1 is packed with great talent: David Muñoz (KTM Boé Motorsports) is present, just like Romano Fenati (Honda Snipers Team) or Xavi Artigas, first in P3.

Shortly after the start of the session, the fall of Scott Ogden at turn n°3 (Honda VisionTrack Racing Team) results in a red flag. This is already the second time that the Briton has made a fairly violent mistake.

Neutralization lasts less than five minutes. Romano Fenati opens hostilities with a fast first lap, barely 66 thousandths ahead of the rookie Filippo Farioli (Red Bull KTM Tech3). Then, the two Honda Team Asia drivers Taiyo Furusato et Mario Aji place themselves in the two best places after a group effort. Mario Aji, in particular, has been quite comfortable since the start of the weekend. We also announce the highside of david savior (KTM CIP Green Power) in the first turn. While at the same time, Philip Farioli carries out a rescue worthy of the greatest!

Moto3 qualifying continues, while David Munoz, injured in Jerez, takes the best time. In the last lap, many improve but Muñoz remains firmly in place. Here he is in Q2, accompanied by Xavi Artigas, Taiyo Furusato et Filippo Farioli. Joel Kelso (CFMoto Racing Prüstel GP) is the first of the unqualified, while David Salvador et Scott Ogden will have to start from the back of the grid due to lack of time.

Let's go for Q2, which decides pole position. Without waiting, Ayumu Sasaki goes out first to benefit from a clear turn, and this benefits him. Here he is already in the lead, and he improves again for his second try! The Japanese is unstoppable, no one seems able to approach him within half a second.

Deniz Oncu (Red Bull KTM Garlic) is second for the moment, but far, too far from “ Crazy boy"

On several occasions, the Turk is ahead halfway around the lap but the sectors n°3 et n ° 4 from Sasaki come from another world; in the third partial, it takes no less than two tenths to Sea Defence. Heading into the final lap, it's hard to see how any rider can beat the Husqvarna rider.

It is not possible ! Ayumu Sasaki realizes a 1'25.130, i.e. 1,1s ahead Deniz Öncü, second. But where does this pilot come from, what universe does he come from? Of course, it's the track record, no doubt about it. This is his fourth pole in seven races, it's just phenomenal. Ivan Ortolá (KTM Angeluss MTA Team) completes the first line.
