The Italian rider returned to the Qatar Grand Prix, his possible move to Moto2 as well as the current situation.

Every week, the drivers talk with their fans via lives on social networks, or with journalists on their site. In the absence of being able to admire them on the track and hear their statements via official microphones or articles written by the media, it is a good way to continue to have news of them and to know what they do and how they live the situation.

Andrea Migno in turn took part in the game via the Italian site GP One and thus returned to this unprecedented moment for all, which arrived at the time when the Moto2 and Moto3 categories had just carried out their last pre-season test in Qatar, allowing them to compete in their only race of the season for the moment ; a race which did not go particularly well for the Italian who crossed the finish line in 16th position.

“Unfortunately I finished with a much worse result than I hoped for, even though we were aware of our difficulties”, he explained. “I would have liked to fight for the podium but I didn’t make it. We were missing something to improve our competitiveness. »

Since his arrival in the World Championship in 2014, Migno has failed to maintain stability in his results, alternating between the front and bottom of the rankings. To date, he has six podiums including one victory, but has never done better than ninth in the final championship standings. The years go by, and a move to Moto2 could be considered, even if it never happened: “I would love it since my goal has always been to do good things in Moto3 and then change category, but for the moment I haven't gotten there yet. »

While waiting to get back on the track and try to climb among the first to envisage a better future, Migno is confined to his home, like many. “It’s a bit of a special time for everyone. I spend my days taking care of my house, but I also play consoles", he acknowledged. “I really like Gran Turismo but also PES. I admit that with the guys from the Academy we engage in great fights on Gran Turismo every week and the level is high. »

In recent days, many hypotheses have been circulating regarding the conditions for resuming the Championship, and one of them would be to only run the premier category, a solution which obviously does not suit the Moto3 rider: “For me just racing MotoGP is weird, but even so you get to a point where you have to expect everything. For several years MotoGP has been seen as the best of the best and is therefore treated as such, without compromise. The fact is, as Paolo Simoncelli said, that Moto2 and Moto3 deserve more respect, therefore to be treated as full categories of motorcycling and with human beings. »
