Of the three championships competing in the Grand Prix, that of Moto3 is the one which offers a general classification at four rounds at the end of the season with an identified favorite. This is Albert Arenas. But everything remains relative since the Aspar rider who will go to Moto2 in 2021 with the same structure is only 13 points ahead. Everything could still change and this Teruel Grand Prix, which marks the second visit to the Aragon track in two successive weekends, will be one to watch closely...
During the last Aragon Grand Prix, James Masia won his second victory in 49 races contested at this level. He also won in Argentina last year. He was then on a KTM. This time he took advantage of being on a Honda to become the brand's 100th driver to come to fruition. This is also Honda's 799th Grand Prix victory.
Darryn binder finished second at the Aragon Grand Prix, which was his fourth podium in and his second this year with his first victory in Catalonia. This is the first time he has achieved more than one podium in a single Moto3 season. Raul Fernandeza finished third last weekend for his first Grand Prix podium.
Albert Arenas took seventh place at the Aragon Grand Prix, which is his worst result so far this year. He is still leading the Moto3 world championship with 144 points ahead of Ai Ogura (131 points). The latter finished 14th last race, which is also his worst result so far this season.
The 11 races that have taken place in the category in Aragon since 2010 have been won by 11 different drivers: Espargaro Pol (2010) Nico Terol (2011) louis salom (2012) Alex Rins (2013) Roman Fenati (2014) Miguel Oliveira (2015) Jorge Navarro (2016) Joan mir (2017) George Martin (2018) Aron canet (2019) et James Masia (2020 / 1).
Roman Fenati et James Masia are the only competing Moto3 riders to have won a Grand Prix race at Aragon in the category. In addition to fenati (2014 and 2015) and farmhouse (2020 / 1), Ogura (2019) Dennis Foggia (2019) Darryn binder (2020/1) and Fernandez (2020/1) are the other Moto3 riders who have made podiums on this track and among this starting grid.
KTM qualified on pole position last year and this year at MotorLand. The Austrian manufacturer has won four times at Aragon in Moto3, as has Honda, which took its fourth victory at the track last weekend.
