As for the two other young Spanish riders who fought for the FIM CEV Moto Junior World Champion title, Xavier Artigas and Pedro Acosta, we have known for a while that “ the nugget Izan Guevara » was going to make the jump to the World Cup in 2021.

But between the knowledge and the formalization of this promotion, there remained a step which was taken yesterday with the press release from the Aspar team.

With Xavier Artigas at Leopard and Peter Acosta at Red Bull KTM Ajo, Izan Guevara will therefore challenge the big names in the Moto3 category next season after winning the Junior World Championship this year and the European Talent Cup last year: Can't wait for next season!

IZAN GUEVARA TO MAKE HIS MOTO3 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP DEBUT WITH TEAM ASPAR

The Moto3 junior world champion will participate in the 2021 world championship with the structure with which he became champion last weekend in Valencia

Izan Guevara, Moto3 junior world champion, will make his debut in the world championship with the Aspar team next season. The Spanish driver, born in 2004, will make his debut in the world championship at the age of 16 and his main objective will be to gain experience on the world championship circuits. After an exceptional season, Guevara becomes a new representative of the work done with the junior drivers of the Aspar team.

The new Moto3 Aspar Team rider arrives in the World Championship after winning two consecutive titles. In 2019 he was champion of the European Talent Cup after winning six consecutive victories, and in 2020 he had a spectacular second half of the year, with five victories and eight podiums which allowed him to win the title of the Moto3 Junior World Championship.

Jorge Martínez “Aspar” : " Izan Guevara had an incredible season and we are very happy with this great result he achieved, and we look forward to continuing to progress together next season in the World Championship. We knew he was coming off an impressive season in the European Talent Cup last year, and while he needed a little more at the start of the year, his second half of the season was brutal. He won nearly six races in a row, missing only one due to a penalty. He is a driver who is very natural, which makes everything very easy and I think he has a very bright future. »

Izan Guevara : " I am very happy and excited to be able to make the jump to the World Championship with the Aspar team. I felt very comfortable with the team from the first moment and we put together a very good group, which is the main thing. I want to continue to progress with this structure which gave me very good sensations and which helped me to win the Moto3 Junior World Championship. This year's results have been very positive. At the beginning my goal was to fight to get into the top 10 and get a podium, but thanks to the great teamwork I felt very confident with the bike and was able to get the title. Now our goal for next season will be to gain a lot of experience, get to know the circuits and continue to progress as a driver. »
