Deniz Öncü Styria

Deniz Öncü had an official communication from the commissioners. The Moto3 version of the Grand Prix of the Americas was a miracle this Sunday in Austin with a impressive pileup shortly after the second start of a race which had already been stopped with a red flag. One of the victims, Andrea Migno, immediately called for a strong sanction once the person responsible is found. He was and, indeed, he was punished.

The images shortly before the incident showed it, it was because the Tech3 KTM rider Deniz Oncu changed its trajectory in a straight line that Jeremy Alcoba went to hang it. From there, a chain of situations triggered chaos. From which everyone miraculously recovered.

Two suspension Grand Prix for Deniz Öncü

The Team Gresini rider's bike remained on the track and served as a springboard for those ofAndrea Migno et Peter Acosta, who literally “stole” but fortunately suffered no consequences. An accident which could have had catastrophic consequences and which fortunately caused more fear than harm.

At the end of the evening, the sanction of the FIM Stewards' College arrived, recalling article 1.21.2 of the regulations on the principle of responsible driving. The Turkish driver will have to miss the Misano and Portimao Grands Prix and will only be able to return to the track in Valencia.
