Moto3 Austin, Paolo Simoncelli on the accident: “A magnificent day”

Always very sensitive to safety issues, Paolo Simoncelli had only one reaction when analyzing the accident during the Moto3 Grand Prix of the Americas from which Deniz Öncü, Jeremy Alcoba, Andrea Migno and Pedro Acosta miraculously emerged unscathed: It was a miracle !

So rather than rebelling against anyone or launching into a controversy that is necessarily a little biased by the current unfortunate series of accidents, the Italian team manager simply prefers to thank what we can assume is the sky, and look ahead .

Paolo Simoncelli : “After watching the Moto3 incident several times, even in slow motion, I think the only thing I can say today is: What a great day! Yes, Sunday was a wonderful day.
It would be too easy to start a controversy, we could talk about rider education that should be taught from minibikes, but on Sunday they all emerged unscathed from a near tragedy and Race Direction finally took the right direction by disqualifying the culprit for two races... So let's take advantage of this gift. We will remember Austin as a lucky Grand Prix, today we can breathe a sigh of relief and prepare for Misano. »

 

 

Almost anecdotally after what interrupted the race, Tatsuki Suzuki finished 7th, Lorenzo Fellon 16th.
