The Moto3 category riders were the last to take to the track this Saturday afternoon to compete in qualifying for the Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas. At the end of a very close fight, and after long minutes of waiting in the pits to find a wheel to have aspiration on this long track, it was finally Andrea Migno (Honda, Rivacold Snipers Team, #16 ) who took pole thanks to a lap in 2'15.814. The Italian is ahead of his compatriot Dennis Foggia (Honda, Leopard Racing, #7), who missed the first pole position of his career by less than a tenth of a second. Xavier Artigas (CFMoto, CFMoto Racing PruestelGP, #43) completes the front row after getting out of Q1, while he was 13th at the start of his last timed lap.
Behind, we will find Deniz Oncu (KTM, Red Bull KTM Tech3, #53) alongside the Spaniard Jaume Masià (KTM, Red Bull KTM Ajo, #5) and the rookie Diogo Moreira (KTM, MT Helmets – MSI, #10). Daniel Holgado (KTM, Red Bull KTM Ajo, #96) will open the third row of the grid in front Kaito Toba (KTM, CIP-Green Power, #27) and Ayumu Sasaki (Husqvarna, Sterilgarda Husqvarna Max, #71), whileIzan Guevara (GasGas, GasGas Aspar Team, #28) was the first leader of the session, before dropping to 10th position on the grid, having won on this track last year.
Note that the leader of the World Championship Sergio Garcia (GasGas, GasGas Aspar Team, #11) is only 15th, while the French Lorenzo Fellon (Honda, SIC58 Squadra Corse, #20) will start from the back of the grid. However, this might mean nothing if the usual Moto3 battle takes place and a large group of riders get podium aspirations.
