Moto3 Catalonia Race

It was time to settle scores in Catalonia during this Moto3 race. And yet, after a match worthy of the name, David Alonso distinguished himself by taking victory. We could legitimately expect a big clash before the lights went out. For once, qualifying was not dominated by a certain Colombian, but by KTM MT Helmets MSi rider Ivan Ortola. David Alonso (CFMoto Aspar Team) started from sixth position after an incredible end to Q2. His best lap was canceled due to the presentation of yellow flags, raised following the fall of Daniel Holgado (Red Bull GasGas Tech3), ninth on the line. Collin Veijer (Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP) and José Antonio Rueda (Red Bull KTM Ajo) were also among the favorites. In short, what beautiful people!

So, even if you already know the outcome of this test, come and relive it with us! Before we begin, here is a table which summarizes the known facts:

Let's go for an incredible race in Catalonia!

David munoz has a penalty of two long lapses to perform, just like Taiyo Furusato Besides. But from the start, he's the pole sitter Ivan Ortola who escapes, in front Daniel Holgado. David Alonso, who was certainly one of the favorites, is still well placed but is not quite playing at the same level. Suction is extremely important here, it is a parameter to take into account.

Collin Veijer, winner at Jerez, is also in good shape. But ortola seems to have a little something extra. The rookie Luca Lunetta (Honda Sic58 Squadra Corsica) is very strong, don't hesitate to play with the best.

One will not be part of the discussion: Joel Kelso (KTM Boé Motorsports). Well placed overall thanks to his consistency, the Australian suffered a fall in the first turns.

It is impossible to predict the order of finish, because a driver eighth at the start of the straight can go first! A little after, David Alonso seriously getting into shape. He is a constant threat, and carefully prepares his attack. And here he comes to the top!

The Colombian manages to open up a significant gap in just one lap. They can't even overtake him on the huge straight! A small gap was created between the first three and Jose Antonio Rueda, whileAlonso wants to escape. He recorded the best lap in the race with four remaining to go!

It's impressive, he seems a cut above the rest. Aspar evolves a nugget, one more. The turns follow one another, but neither Ivan Ortola et Colin Veijer cannot reach it. Daniel Holgado has backslidden; he can't keep up the pace.

David munoz, although penalized, returned to the top 5 and achieved the best lap in the race! The Spaniard is unleashed! But wait… Jose Antonio Rueda comes back like a bullet in the last lap! Will he be able to win, while this small group of four will fight until the last corner?

Well no ! David Alonso wins an exceptional Grand Prix, just ahead Ivan Ortola et Jose Antonio Rueda ! Ortola was close, sure, but was never able to attack Alonso once he took control. Once again, he was intractable, nothing less. Collin Veijer is fourth, without demerit. David munoz completes the top 5, and he too has earned the right to rest given his maddening pace. Daniel Holgado, heckled then warned for exceeded track limits, is sixth. He is the big loser of this Grand Prix, and must leave the controls to David Alonso in the championship. Note the enormous performance of the rookie Luca Lunetta, seventh, and first Honda to finish.
