In Catalonia, Dennis Foggia qualified on pole position for the second time in his Grand Prix career, as he did in France last month. He will aim for victory for the second time since the start of the year with Indonesia. He finished third in 2020 in Catalonia, his only Moto3 podium at this circuit. This is Honda's sixth consecutive pole position at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Moto3, and eighth overall in the category at the circuit.

Since 2020, only five riders have won in Moto3 after starting from pole: Tatsuki suzuki at the 2020 Andalusian GP. GP, Raul fernandez at the 2020 Portuguese GP, Roman Fenati at the British GP last year, Sergio Garcia in Argentina this year and Izan Guevara also this year.

Deniz Oncu, who was on pole position last weekend in Italy, qualified in second position, which is the third time since the start of the year that he has qualified in the top three. He reached the Moto3 podium for the first time last year in Catalunya and will now aim for victory for the first time.

Izan Guevara qualified in third position, which is the fourth time since the start of the year that he has qualified in the top three and the first time since he was on pole position at Jerez and won the race, which is also his last victory.

Lorenzo Fellon qualified fourth, the second best result of his GP career after Portugal earlier this year, where he qualified third. He finished P16 last year in Catalunya, which was his best result in Moto3 at the time.

After going through Q1, Ryusei Yamanaka qualified in fifth for his best Moto3 result, although he started from fourth in Qatar this year after qualifying sixth. He will aim to reach the podium for the first time in this category.

Leader of the championship and winner last year in Catalonia, Sergio Garcia qualified in seventh position. This is the fifth time this year he has failed to qualify among the top six. He will aim for victory for the first time in two consecutive Moto3 races.
